Kim Hwarang (Hyundai) and Paolo Rocca (Honda) set lap times of 1:56.198 in the TCR Italy qualifying session at Mugello, with pole position handed to South Korean driver Hwarang who set the first lap time.

Rocca’s ALM Motorsport teammate Ruben Volt was third quickest, 0.145sec off pole, while MM Motorsport’s Jacopo Cimenes completed the top four with three tenths off pole, bringing three more Hondas into the top four.

Canadian Audi driver Nicolas Taylor was fifth fastest, four seconds slower than Hawarang, while Levente Losonczy was sixth.

Aikoa Raicng’s Nicola Baldan (Audi) and Solite Indigo Racing’s Junesung Park took first place, completing the top eight, five and eight-tenths of a second respectively.

Salvatore Tavano, the leader in the championship, could only get 19th place with the 30 kilos of compensating weight he carried on his Cupra.

The first race of the weekend will start on Saturday at 13:00 Turkish time.
