Two Auburn Baseball Players Selected as Cape Cod All-Stars

Auburn Tigers catcher Ike Irish and incoming infielder Eric Snow were named Cape Cod League All-Stars.

Appearing in 29 games for the Chatham Anglers, Irish produced a . 298 batting average, . 801 OPS, two home runs and nine RBIs.

He’s a strong follow-up to his stellar sophomore season with the Tigers. While his average and on-base percentage took a slight dip, the 2023 All-SEC Freshman team member saw a significant increase in his power in 2024. He more than doubled his home runs (14 in 2024, six in 2023) and his batting percentage went from .546 to .627.

In the meantime, Snow’s time in the Cape Cod league is a sneak peek at a new contract for Tigers fans.

Snow, who spent two seasons with the USF Bulls in Tampa, announced his transfer to Auburn on June 7.

Snow is also using his time in the Cape Cod League to prepare for a bounce-back season. After a strong freshman season at USF in which he was named to the All-AAC First Team and AAC All-Freshman Team, Snow is set to take a step down in 2024.

His average dropped from . 327 to . 248, and his batting average dropped more than 200 points from . 525 to . 325. However, in 23 games with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, Snow has a . 361 batting average with two home runs, 15 RBIs, and a . 486 batting average.

The change of scenery is already helping. And remember, the NCAA uses a wooden bat as opposed to the metal one it will use in college baseball. Auburn should expect those kinds of numbers in the spring.

Irish will represent the East Division and Snow will represent the West Division in the All-Star game.

The Cap Cod League All-Star Game will take place on July 27 at Guv Fuller Field in Falmouth, Massachusetts.
