The third annual Meet for Tennis NJ event will be held on August 19

For the third year in a row, the Rally for Tennis will take place on August 19 from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Centercourt Athletic Club of Chatham in New Jersey.

Rally for Tennis (RFT) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2021 by New England youth tennis players Alek Karagozyan, Tait Oberg, and Cole Oberg, whose mission is to make a difference in the lives of children by providing equal access to the sport of tennis for youth in underserved and underprivileged communities.

RFT events are currently held in the Garden State, Utah, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and most recently expanded to college campuses such as Yale and Brown. RFT partners with local nonprofits that benefit under-resourced youth, and once again, proceeds from the NJ fundraiser will go to Greater Newark Tennis and Education (GNTE).

This year’s event in Chatham will feature a free clinic with drills and fun games, followed by dinner, awards, and a Q&A with the RFT Captains (Josh Mandelbaum, Andrew Kotozen, Ayanna Varma, Ethan Polen, Jean-Luc Marchand, and Alexa Schonbraun) to learn more about their tennis experiences and more.

The event will conclude with a raffle draw that will be an extension of the ongoing online raffle.

Since its inception, RFT has raised over $180,000 from over 1,200 donors to support local community access to tennis for those in need.

The event in New Jersey last August raised more than $60,000 for GNTE, a Newark-based organization that aims to provide tennis instruction to children in Essex County and surrounding areas.
