There’s no greater honor in sports than being an Olympian and winning a gold medal in the Olympics, not even winning multiple NBA championships.

That’s just a fact and a premise that works for every single sport on Earth; It’s just the way it is.

However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that winning a gold medal in basketball is harder than winning an NBA championship, at least for American players.

At least, that’s how Devin Booker feels.

When asked about that, the Phoenix Suns star claimed that, with the best players on Earth playing in the NBA, it’s more difficult to win a championship than a gold medal (via NBA Central).

Of course, that comes from someone who failed to win a ring when given a chance to do so, so it makes sense.

Still, players from other countries, such as Puerto Rico, South Sudan, or even Canada, would most likely disagree.

Winning a long tournament could always be considered more difficult because it’s a marathon, not a race.

You have to play a lot of games, stay healthy, and then go through four playoff rounds before being crowned, as opposed to just playing six or seven games to win a gold medal.

Even so, that’s a privilege that comes with playing for the most stacked team in the game.
