Lahinch Golf Club is delighted to have its first member to win the Southern Ireland championship in 56 years.

In the final, American foreign national Patrick Adler won the famous cup by winning 3-2.

Adler also defeated Lahinch’s Jonathan Keane in the last 32 on his way to the title.

Adler, who is the cousin of Clare’s All Ireland winner Ryan Taylor, became the first Lahinch player to win the prestigious tournament on home soil since JD Smyth in 1968
