Texas Super Kings got off to a flying start thanks to an explosive 85-run partnership between Faf du Plessis and Devon Conway. The latter continued their attack after their captain’s dismissal but Aaron Hardie couldn’t find his rhythm. This led to a lack of boundaries in the middle stages and put them under pressure. Joshua Tromp, Milind Kumar and Calvin Savage were dismissed in quick succession which put the onus on Marcus Stoinis and Dwayne Bravo. They also couldn’t find many boundaries in the last 2 overs but managed to rotate the strike. They ended up with 176, which was a bit less than what they had expected but if the bowlers come up with a plan, it could be a defendable total.
