ZANESVILLE, OH – Eastside Community Ministry continued to make a difference with every shot during the 18th annual Golf Event.

Golfers and supporters spent a day supporting a good cause on the course at Eaglesticks Golf Club. Proceeds from the event will go to the Eastside Youth Program, which provides assistance to children growing up in challenging environments such as poverty, substance abuse and illiteracy.

“We have a year-round Youth Program with kids from pre-K through 12th grade. They come after school and in the summer. It’s free and we have 40 kids that we take in. It’s a fun time when all these kids are there after school and in the summer at Eastside. It offers tutoring, life skills and a safe place for kids to come and get an experience that they wouldn’t get if they weren’t part of our program,” said Jamie Trout, Executive Director of Eastside Community Ministry.

From first tee to last tee, this year’s event was a success with 23 teams signing up. The generous contributions of participants and sponsors will ensure these young individuals receive the support and resources they need.

“We operate with the support of our community. Through grants and fundraising, we are able to do what we do every day. It is so important to our program,” Trout said.

Eastside plans to host the golf event again next year. For more information about their Youth Programs, visit their website.
