Mike Tindall’s drunken prank on Prince Harry goes horribly wrong after ‘they threw punches’ | Royal | News

Mike Tindall once punched Prince Harry to see how good his security was, and it turned out to be pretty good.

The former rugby star is married to Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall and attends major events and less formal family gatherings alongside the royal family.

And this happened in 2003, at a less formal family gathering.

Mike enjoyed a night out with the Duke of Sussex and former teammate Iain Balshaw during the Rugby World Cup in Australia.

Zara Tindall’s husband said rugby stars wanted to test how well the prince’s security was and punched him.

But Prince Harry’s bodyguards appeared to be very careful, as the rugby players were stopped in just a few seconds.

Mike made the comments during A Question of Sport Live at the London Palladium in September 2021.

He also joked that there are other royals who want to do the same thing to the duke right now.

“The family at Balmoral are having the same conversation at the moment,” Tindall said.

“But the Queen took away his safety,” he added.

The Sussexes and Tindalls once had a close relationship but things have turned quite ‘cold’ since Harry and Meghan’s sensational split from the firm in 2020.

This coldness was made even more apparent during the Platinum Jubilee when, after a service at St Paul’s Cathedral, Mike made little to no contact with the Sussex camp, preferring instead to speak to someone else.
