MONTMAGNY — A motorcyclist who was critically injured in a crash on a motorsports track in Montmagny, in Quebec’s Chaudière-Appalaches region, has died.

For reasons yet to be determined, around 11:45 a.m. Sunday, a motorcyclist in his 30s crashed the motorcycle he was riding at the Autodrome Montmagny, a multi-track motorsports venue, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). Montmagny is about 300 kilometers northeast of Montreal.

The man, who was taken to hospital in critical condition, was pronounced dead on Sunday afternoon.

SQ spokesman Adam Marineau said information gathered at the scene did not indicate any criminal activity.
