Portarlington Rugby Club held a special event on Wednesday, July 10 to honour Alanna Fitzpatrick ahead of her departure for the 2024 Paris Olympics. He raised the Olympic flag in appreciation To mark his success in being selected for the Irish Rugby Sevens team in Paris. Sports clubs from around Portarlington also joined in to show their support.

It was such a beautiful feeling to have my home support me and the amount of support they gave me was incredible. Even today I can’t believe how everyone supported me and how proud they were of me and how happy they were that I was just improving and achieving this great success, so it fills my heart to know how proud my hometown is of me,” she said.
