Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has announced the first edition of the ‘Sharjah Beach Festival’, which aims to transform Al Heera Beach into a vibrant hub of activity from 15 August to 15 September, from 16:00 to 22:00 daily.

This month-long festival promises a unique experience for individuals and families and offers a wide range of beach, sports and entertainment activities.

The festival is divided into several zones. The Water and Beach Sports Zone will offer visitors the opportunity to participate in a variety of water sports, including paddle boarding, beach volleyball and football, and obstacle courses.

The Health and Wellness Zone will offer yoga, aerobics and Zumba sessions. Visitors can also join sunset meditation classes to relax and unwind. Expert-led fitness workshops focusing on holistic health and wellness will also be available.

The Entertainment Area will host daily music shows, an open-air beach cinema, reading sessions, puppet shows and various interactive games and workshops for children, teenagers and adults.

Visitors will also enjoy a unique cultural and commercial experience through a variety of restaurants and cafés serving international and local cuisine, as well as a traditional handicrafts and artisans’ market.

Commenting on the festival, Khalid Al Ali, Director of Al Heera Beach and Al Montazah Parks, said: “Our commitment to hosting exceptional events not only highlights Sharjah’s appeal as a world-class tourism destination, but also celebrates its vibrant community. This festival is a testament to our relentless efforts to make the emirate a destination of choice for visitors and residents.”

He added: “Through the Sharjah Beach Festival, we aim to capitalise on Sharjah’s vast tourism potential, particularly its pristine beaches, which are a popular summer destination for visitors, tourists and locals. We hope that this festival will boost tourism activities in the emirate throughout the summer and shed light on its destinations that appeal to all walks of life.”
