Papali’i remains committed to All Blacks until 2027 World Cup

All Blacks forward Dalton Papali’i has re-signed with New Zealand Rugby until the 2027 Rugby World Cup, NZR announced on Monday.

The 26-year-old, who has played 34 test matches, has extended his contract with Super Rugby Pacific side Auckland Blues.

“Dalton is a world-class forward who can play in multiple positions and brings physicality and work-rate to both sides of the ball,” All Blacks Head Coach Scott Robertson said in a statement.

“He works hard around us every day and continues to grow as a leader and player. It’s a great outcome to have Dalton in New Zealand for the next three years.”

Papali’i said the decision to stay in New Zealand was an easy one.

“I love football at every level right now and home is where my heart beats,” he said.

“It’s great to have some certainty about the next few years but right now my focus is on the Rugby Championship and contributing to the All Blacks in 2024.”

New Zealand will begin their Rugby Championship title defence against Argentina on August 10.
