Tour de France 2024 prize money: How much does the yellow jersey earn?

The 2024 Tour de France is drawing to a close and Tadej Pogacar is set to hold off competition from Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel to win his third yellow jersey, and the Slovenian will be well rewarded for it.

Cyclists receive bonuses from their teams for their on-cycling success during the Tour, but race organizer ASO also offers generous prize money.

For his efforts, Pogacar will receive a hefty win cheque, as well as a raft of other rewards for stage wins, combativeness awards and King of the Mountain points.

Tour de France prize money

The total prize pool for the 2024 Tour de France will be 2.5 million euros, with the general classification winner receiving 20 percent of this figure, amounting to 500,000 euros.

Individual stage prize money

The athlete who wins a stage in the tour is awarded a prize of 11,000 euros.

Green and polka dot jersey prize money

The winner of the best sprinter points classification wins 25,000 euros, while the King of the Mountains also wins the same prize.

White jersey prize money

At the end of the tour, the best young cyclist (25 years old and under) receives a €20,000 prize.

There are other prizes to be won throughout the Tour de France. Daily warrior reward It comes with a prize of €2,000, with the overall challenge prize winning person earning €20,000.

There is €800 for the first driver on each out of category to climbFor €600 first categoryFor €400 category twoFor €300 category three and for €200 category four climbs.

The leader of each classification Those in the general classification receive €300 per day, while those in the bottom of the general classification receive €500 per day.

Winning Memoir Henri Desgrange – the first driver to pass over the race’s highest point – wins €5,000. This year it was Pogacar, who collected a healthy payday by also winning the stage.

Winning team classification€50,000 is awarded based on the combined times of the three fastest finishers from each team, with the fastest team each day also receiving €2,800. This money is traditionally split between the teams.
