Gamhariya, August 4: The Annual General Body meeting of the Cricket Association of Seraikela Kharsawan was held on August 4 at a hotel in Gamharia. The meeting was preceded by Acting President Pramod Kumar.

The session commenced with a warm welcome to JSCA appointed observer Dinesh Kumar Singh and the members of the association. Several critical issues were on the agenda for discussion.

Ground Availability Issue

The association has long struggled with securing land for district matches and practice sessions. For the past decade, they have relied on the grounds of NIT Jamshedpur and TISCO. However, recent refusals from these grounds have exacerbated the situation. The House unanimously decided to seek assistance from the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) to address this issue. This assistance includes securing a dedicated ground, acquiring land, and obtaining necessary equipment. The lack of proper grounds is hindering player development and talent showcasing, which is a significant concern for cricket in Seraikela Kharsawan.

Election of New Executive Members

Elections for the Cricket Association of Seraikela Kharsawan District were conducted by Election Officer SP Singh in the presence of JSCA Observer Dinesh Kumar Singh. The elected members are:

• President:Dr. Ajay Kumar (Former Scientist, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India)
• Acting President: Kumar Prabhat Kiran
• Vice Presidents: Pramod Kumar and Abhay Kumar Singh
• Honorary General Secretary: Praveer Kumar
• Honorary Treasurer: Raghavendra Kumar Singh
• Executive Members: Kailash Chandra, Ruby Devi, NK Mishra, Beauty Singh, Prem Ranjan, Pushpa, P Ranjan Singh
• Representative of Schools, Clubs, and Institutions: SK Sharma

Election certificates were presented to all the newly elected members by Election Officer SP Singh and JSCA Observer Dinesh Kumar Singh.

Initiatives by the New President

Dr. Ajay Kumar, the newly elected President, donated a check of Rs. 1 lakh to the Cricket Association of Seraikela Kharsawan. This donation is earmarked for the development of cricket in the district and the establishment of a cricket academy.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prashant Kumar. The association is hopeful that these new efforts will significantly boost the development of cricket in Seraikela Kharsawan.
