Team USA scores first 3×3 win without Fredette

Team USA’s 3×3 basketball teams earned their first and second Olympic victories with victories over France and China on Friday.

Fredette missed his third straight game with a lower-extremity injury, which Barry said was a major setback for the team.

“It’s so tiring, so brutal,” he said. report After the win over China. “But we are Olympians, we worked for this. Of course, it’s not ideal conditions but… you have to be able to overcome it and persevere. And that’s what makes being an Olympian special.”

Team USA will play their final pool match against the Netherlands on Sunday at 11:05 a.m. The top six teams will advance to the medal round, with Team USA in fifth place, so they will need to win to keep their hopes of advancing alive.
