Are We At Crisis Point With Golf Club Vandalism?

There are few things more frustrating and demoralising to a golfer than a putting green that has been destroyed by a motorbike or ruined by a chemical or fuel spill. Unfortunately, this has become a fairly common occurrence on UK golf courses in recent times.

Last month, Caird Park in Dundee was targeted by youths on motorbikes. They drove across the course and damaged five greens which are now unplayable. The 17th green is unlikely to be playable for the rest of the year. Caird Park was only saved from closure three months ago and the damage has dealt a serious blow to the municipal facility.
