Major champions Ernie Els, Bernhard Langer among latest Ally Challenge commitments

FLINT – The hottest senior player in the professional golf world is coming to The Ally Challenge.

Ernie Els, who has won three times on the PGA Tour Champions circuit this year, is among the latest players to commit to the $2 million event Aug. 19-25 at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc Twp.

Also committing Tuesday to play in the seventh annual event were major champions Stewart Cink, Bernhard Langer and KJ Choi.

Els, a two-time US Open champion, leads the Champions Tour with more than $1.8 million in earning this year.

His six senior tour victories include the 2024 Principal Charity Classic, American Family Insurance Classic and Kaulig Companies Championship.

Els, 54, has seven top-10 finishes in 13 events.

Langer, 66, is the most successful player in Champions Tour history with 46 career victories and more than $36 million in earnings.

This year, he has won more than $362,000 and has three top-10 finishes, including a fifth at last month’s Open Championship.

Langer is a two-time Masters champion.

Cink, 51, has one top-25 finish in 13 events this year and has won $273,786.

He has won three times on the Champions Tour and his biggest career victory came in the 2009 British Open, when he beat five-time champion Tom Watson in a playoff.

Choi, 54, has won twice on the Champions Tour including this year’s Senior Open Championship July 28. He has won more than $1.25 million this year.

He won eight times on the PGA Tour.
