Golf tip of the week: A look at golf etiquette | News, Sports, Jobs

PHOTO ADDED Pay attention to signs on the course such as only driveways, keep cars away from the green area, etc.

Golf etiquette is the first thing a novice golfer should learn before heading to the golf course. Etiquette is just as important as learning the mechanics of your swing. Beginner golfers will naturally play slower than experienced golfers, that’s for sure. But there’s no need to rush the course; here are a few tips to help you enjoy this wonderful game called golf.

First, signal to the faster players to continue the game, step aside, and let them play in front of your group.

Keep your golf cart in designated areas and at least thirty feet away from putting surfaces. Just pay attention to signs such as driveways.

Please repair your pitch markings on the greens and replace your divots on the fairways and tees.
