In action yesterday in Paris, Dallas’ Sha’Carri Richardson easily swept the 100m heats on Friday, while Highland Park’s Scottie Scheffler tied for 10th place with a 2-under. Today brings the 100m semifinals and final, where Richardson will aim to take home her first Olympic medal.

To watch it live, the women’s 100m semi-finals will take place at 12:50, with the final immediately following at 14:20.

Which Texans are competing today?

Sha’Carri Richardson

The Dallas native finally made her Olympic debut, running 10.94 in the qualifying round on Friday to qualify for the 100m semifinals. She is the reigning World Champion in that event after taking gold in 2023 and recently ran a world-leading 10.71 seconds to win this year’s U.S. championships.

Simone Biles

The world’s undisputed best gymnast, Texas native Simone Biles, will compete in the women’s vault final today. Biles shined in the women’s all-around final and took home another gold medal. After a “loop” incident put an early end to her Tokyo Olympic hopes and forced the U.S. to fight for an unlikely silver medal, expect Biles and Team USA to be out for redemption at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday

Scottie Scheffler

Olympic golf has begun and after two rounds the world’s No. 1 golfer is tied for tenth at 6-under. Don’t worry Dallasites, there are still two rounds to play. Catch him when he tees off for Round 3 at 12:06

Kevin Durant

The former University of Texas star and NBA champion will be part of the USA basketball team when they play their final group stage match against Puerto Rico at 10:15 a.m.

Upcoming Events

While swimming is wrapping up, gymnastics continues with event finals. Swimming ends on August 4, and the last day for artistic gymnastics is August 5. Track and field continues through August 11.

The men’s basketball final will be held on August 10, with the women’s championship the following day. The gold medal match for men’s football will be held at the Parc des Princes on August 9, with the women’s final the following day at the same venue. Roland Garros will host the women’s and men’s singles finals for tennis today and tomorrow

When will Sha’Carri Richardson run?

The Dallas-born athlete will run in the 100-meter semifinals today at 12:50 p.m. and likely the final later in the day at 2:20 p.m.

If Richardson is selected for the USA 4×100-meter relay, the preliminary rounds will be held on Thursday, August 8 at 4:10 a.m., with the finals on Friday, August 9 at 12:30 p.m.

The Highland Park native will continue his Olympic golf tournament with the third round today at 2 a.m.

The final round is also on Sunday at 2 a.m. All rounds will be shown on the Golf Channel and streamed on Peacock.

Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, Hezly Rivera

Biles, a native of Spring, who is participating in her third consecutive Olympic Games, will continue competing in the women’s diving final at 09:20 today and will be accompanied by fellow native of Spring, Chiles.

Individual events will conclude on Monday, August 5th.
