PITTSBURGH — Josh Bell hit both home runs in his Arizona debut, Ketel Marte also hit two home runs and the Diamondbacks blew a five-run lead Friday night to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-8.

Bell, acquired from the Miami Marlins for cash on Tuesday, hit his second home run of the night with two out in the seventh inning, sending Aroldis Chapman’s slider 350 feet to right.

Geraldo Perdomo, who fouled off a ball that hit the inside of his right knee, hit a sweeping hit from Colin Holderman (3-3) to the right-center gap in the eighth, making the double that put the team ahead.

Marte hit his second home run of the game and 26th of the season off of Dennis Santana’s 0-1 cut in the ninth inning.

Justin Martínez (5-2) led off the game with a walk in the eighth inning and earned the win.

Oneil Cruz started the ninth inning for Pittsburgh with a single, his fifth at-bat, scoring on Rowdy Tellez’s RBI single with one out. Ryan Thompson then got Joey Bart and Ke’Bryan Hayes to ground out for his second save.

Cruz’s RBI single in the sixth inning put Pittsburgh, which had trailed 5-0 in the first inning, ahead 7-6. Andrew McCutchen scored on a slow-dribbler that was canceled at first on a throw by second baseman Marte and then canceled on a tackle.

McCutchen and Bryan Reynolds each had RBI singles in the fourth inning off of Cruz.

The Diamondbacks scored in the first four innings against Luis Ortiz, who allowed six hits in 5 1/3 innings.

First batter Corbin Carroll hit a triple down the right field line after Cruz got past Hayes at third base.

Marte followed with his first home run. Joc Pederson then sent a slider off Luis Ortiz 430 feet to right, over the wall and into the Allegheny River, and Bell hit three straight home runs, including one to right-center in the first inning he saw as a Diamondback. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. then scored on a groundout by Alek Thomas.

Bart had an RBI single in the fourth before McCutchen and Reynolds hit consecutive two-out doubles in the fifth. Cruz cut the lead to 5-3 with a single off of Brandon Pfaadt, who allowed three runs and seven hits in five innings.

Thomas had an RBI single in the sixth inning for Arizona.
