The Chief Executive Officer of Cricket Fiji said he was proud of the growth of the sport in the country, especially at secondary school level.

Stating that the Southern Region Cricket U19 Competition is ongoing, Sitiveni Rokoro stated that there has been a significant change in the performance in the tournament compared to the past.

He adds that this is a big breakthrough for them as they aim to represent Fiji in many international tournaments.

“Last year, we qualified for the under-19 boys’ category of the East Asia World Cup and finished third. This is an improvement from 2019, when we finished last.”

The semi-final clash between John Wesley and RKS is currently underway at Albert Park in Suva.
