With medal hopes on the horizon, Scottie Scheffler has some work to do in Round 3 on Saturday at Le Golf National if he wants to make up some ground and get closer to the medal podium.

Scheffler enters Saturday’s competition round of the 2024 Paris Olympics tied for 10th place on the leaderboard at 6-under par after shooting 2-under par in Friday’s second round.

The world No. 1 golfer struggled with some challenges in Saturday’s second round, particularly on the par 4 hole, Hole 7, where he recorded double bogey after hitting his shot wide of the thick rough at Le Golf National. That was followed by a putt that caught the rough as it went just 14 feet in front of him. He finished Friday’s round with a strong Back 9, where he was able to capitalize on two birdies to start the final nine and only made it 4-under on the Back 9.

He enters Saturday’s round five strokes back of the lead, currently in a three-way tie between Team USA teammate Xander Schauffele, Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama and Great Britain’s Tommy Fleetwood.
