The Donegal Junior Football League will start on the weekend of 31 August/1 September

It has been announced that the new season of the Donegal Junior Football League will start on the weekend of 31 August / 1 September.

The new 2024/25 season will kick off with its traditional format, kicking off the new football year with the Brian McCormick and Voodoo Venue Cup competitions.

These competitions will be direct elimination with the Area Shield Finals, with the four winners advancing to the semi-finals later in the season.

Letterkenny Rovers will retain the Brian McCormick Cup after winning 4-3 in a thrilling encounter against Keadue Rovers in Ballyare in May, while Strand Rovers will retain the trophy after winning the Voodoo Venue Cup by beating Drumbar United earlier in the year.

The Donegal Junior League announced on social media this evening that the divisions of the league are almost complete, with only a few items remaining to be sorted out before they can announce the final list of teams in each league.
