NASCAR Xfinity: JR Motorsports Confirms New 2025 Driver Contract

NASCAR Xfinity Series team JR Motorsports has announced that Connor Zilisch will join its roster full-time in 2025. Zilisch, an 18-year-old rising star currently in development with Trackhouse Racing, will drive the No. 88 Chevrolet.

Zilisch has quickly climbed the motorsports ranks with impressive LMP2 class victories at internationally recognized events such as the 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona and the Twelve Hours of Sebring. Zilisch won at multiple tracks in the ARCA Series last season, including Dover Speedway, Flat Rock Speedway, Iowa Speedway and Indianapolis Raceway Park. He also set a new track record in his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut at Circuit of the Americas by taking the pole and finishing fourth, an incredible feat for a newcomer.

According to Motorsport, Zilisch made the following statements about his new contract:

“This is an amazing moment for me and all the people who have helped me get to this point in my career.

“Thanks to the great support I received from Chevrolet and the chance to race in trucks and ARCA with Silver Hare Racing, I was able to sign with Trackhouse Racing and they went to great lengths to secure an incredible opportunity for me. I am so grateful and can’t wait to prove their trust in me is well-deserved.

“To think that I get to race for JR Motorsports and one of my heroes, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., is mind-blowing. I’m ready to get to work.”

NASCAR icon JR Motorsports owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. also said:

“Connor is a very impressive driver at this young age. We are excited for him to step behind the wheel full-time next season. With the support of Chevrolet, Trackhouse Racing and now JR Motorsports, he is on track for success.”

Trackhouse founder Justin Marks echoed the collaborative effort to support Zilisch’s development.

“We are excited to begin this relationship with JR Motorsports and ensure Connor is in good hands as we work together to continue his development.

“Connor has a bright future in this sport and we plan on being together for a long time. JR Motorsports is a great partner for Trackhouse and Connor.”

Zilisch will participate in a four-race deal with JR Motorsports this season ahead of his full-time commitment in 2025, competing at Watkins Glen International, Kansas Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway and Phoenix Raceway.
