PCB Chairman Moshin Naqvi Responds to Critics: ‘You’ll See…

In a recent media interaction, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Moshin Naqvi came down hard on a journalist when asked about his cricket knowledge. He said that he took up the job to fulfill his promises and was not bothered by critics’ views on his knowledge.

Before taking over the PCB, Moshin served as Punjab’s interim chief minister from January last year to February 2024.

Moshin was initially a businessman and later entered politics. He was one of two people nominated for the role of interim Chief Minister of Punjab province. Surprisingly, Moshin was even suggested for the role by a colleague, politician Hamza Shehbaz.

During a press conference in Lahore, one of the reporters asked him about his knowledge of cricket.

“Time will tell how much I know about cricket but we are here to deliver. I don’t care what people say but you will see the results,” Naqvi replies.

He also added that a six-member advisory committee will soon be formed under the chairmanship of former politician and Pakistani fast player Waqar Younis.

“I am inducting former stars into the team to study and improve the cricket system and end the culture of personal likes and dislikes,” Naqvi said.

The PCB Chairman also announced the launch of a new local body which he said will soon be part of the board’s constitution.

“We will also include this new local structure in the constitution so that it cannot be changed in the future. Each team will be overseen by a respected former supporter and will be given three years to manage and deliver results,” he said.
