Trackhouse Racing Extends Raul Fernandez’s Contract Through 2025 Season

Following an outstanding season with the Aprilia RS-GP23, Trackhouse Racing has extended a new two-year contract with Raul Fernandez as a reward for his outstanding performance.

Fernandez, who has been in outstanding form in his second season with Aprilia on the RS-GP23 machine, recently achieved his first front row start in MotoGP at the Sachsenring and will take delivery of his upgraded 2024 RS-GP machine at Silverstone next month.

The 23-year-old Spaniard set a blistering pace in the sprint race in Barcelona, aiming to make a significant difference. However, this ambitious move led to his crash on Lap 5. Speaking to the media about his new contract and how staying with this team is his priority, Fernandez said:

“I am very happy to stay with Trackhouse Racing MotoGP.

“This is what we wanted; this new project with Justin (Marks) and Davide (Brivio) is great and they have built a great team.

“I am very happy to hear their plans for the future, because they have a clear idea of what they want to do and for me, my priority since the beginning of the year has been to try to stay in the team.

“So I’ll be here for the next two years and that makes me very happy, but of course that also means we have a lot of work to do.”

Fernandez explained his approach towards 2025 by expressing his happiness to get a contract extension with the right team. He added:

“We will have all the factory material in 2025 and 2026, which is great news and we are currently preparing to start with a new bike in the middle of this year, so we have to use this well to prepare for next year.

“We need to stay calm, understand everything about cycling and see what we need to do for the 2025 season. This is very important.

“Trackhouse Racing MotoGP is a really great team. I love the ideas of this American organization and I am happy to see Justin’s ambitions.

“He’s new to MotoGP but he’s ready to bring something different to the American market and hopefully we can make a difference – try to grow MotoGP there. I’m also very happy with Davide.

“He has won five MotoGP titles so far and I think he is the right person to help me achieve my dreams. I believe in him and his ability to create a great team, I am very happy.”

The Trackhouse rider explained that the maximum performance has been extracted from the current bike and therefore the upgraded Aprilia will make the competition much more exciting. He added:

“Now we will get the Aprilia 2024 upgrade specification at Silverstone, which will be exciting.

“The first part of this year went very well, especially the last four laps. We managed to make big strides and get the most out of the bike.

“I feel like we are on the edge at the moment, so it’s great to be moving to the new Aprilia now.

“We will have the same material, with factory riders and Miguel, so it will be interesting to find out our level in the championship, especially on the Aprilia side.”
