Nicholls Tennis earns ITA All-Academic Honors

THIBODAUX, Louisiana– Ten members of the Nicholls State University tennis program were recognized with ITA Scholar Athletes honors for their excellence in the classroom, and both the women’s and men’s teams earned All-Academic Team honors when the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its academic awards on Monday.

Named all-academic for the eighth consecutive year, the women’s team had eight selections on the ITA list and finished with a combined 3.764 GPA for the academic year. Those named to the academic list were: Aada Inna, Betija Dusele, Carla Bouygues, Constanta Cruz, Lea Grinberg, Liu Qianyu, Noemie PiquetAnd Sofia Sara Safarov.

The award winners in the men’s category are: Kotaro Matsumura And Quentin LamotheThe men achieved a 3.241 GPA for the year.

To be selected as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, an individual must have a GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 for the current academic year and be listed on the institution eligibility form.

To receive ITA All-Academic Team recognition, a program must have a team GPA of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 scale and all varsity letter earners must be included in the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
