MMA star says Jake Paul is ’embarrassing’ after Mike Perry win

Michael Bisping has been quick to criticise Jake Paul, describing him as an “embarrassment” to the boxing world for not facing “real boxers”.

The 45-year-old former professional mixed martial artist and commentator slammed social media star and boxer Paul following his win over Mike Perry.

Paul defeated the current BKFC and former UFC fighter via TKO in the sixth round and his boxing record currently stands at 10-1.

Bisping stated in a video posted on YouTube in which he reacted to the fight that he was “behind” Perry before the fight but believed the fight should not have happened at all, which he called a “s*** show” due to the height and weight difference between the two fighters.

He claimed that Paul “chose these opponents who were much smaller and less experienced than himself.”

“Coming into this fight, myself, the whole fight community and everybody was behind Mike Perry, but the truth is he was just too small,” Bisping said.

“There are weight classes in boxing and combat sports for a reason. Jake Paul was about twice his size. The weight difference is going to be incredible.

He continued: “If that’s what you want to see, then good on you Jake Paul. That was bullshit. That was bullshit. That fight should never have happened in the first place because it was a terrible spectacle.”

At Friday’s weigh-in, Paul initially failed to make it onto the scale, but on his second try he weighed in at 200 pounds, 3.4 pounds heavier than Perry.

Bisping also criticised Paul’s technique in the ring.

“He was all over the place,” she said. “He was crossing his feet all over the place, swaying, wild, reckless. It was not a technical performance.”
