This is a daily quiz, so make sure you complete the word each day and return to the page where you can climb the leaderboard and earn bragging rights against your friends.

How to play

Users have six tries to guess the word of the day, which is always rugby union related and will always be five letters long. This word could be a player’s first or last name, a position on the field, a team or pretty much anything to do with the beautiful game we love.

Enter your first guess and press enter, and the title’s colors will change according to their position in the word. A green box means the letter is in the correct position; an orange box means the letter is somewhere else in the word; a gray box means the letter is not in the word at all.

If you are having trouble and need some help you can find help using the hint button, which will bring up a box. However, you should note that this will only be available to logged in users.

There’s also a give up button, but that’s like giving the ball away after the 80th minute when you have a chance to win. That’s an option we won’t use against you.
