Osage City Parks and Recreation is preparing for fall sports with upcoming registration dates for youth soccer, cheer camp and youth flag football. See details below:

Youth Football

Sections – Preschool/K, 1st and 2nd grade, 3rd and 4th grade, 5th and 6th grade. All sections are co-ed.

• A player’s grade is his grade for the 2024-2025 academic year.
• OCPR teams Overbrook and Lyndon are participating.
• Matches rotate between Overbrook, Lyndon and Osage City.
• Cost – $35 per player.
• OCPR players are provided with a team jersey, shorts and socks.
• Players bring their own shin guards and cleated shoes.
• Team practices may begin the week of August 26 if a coach is appointed.

The deadline for registration is August 16.

Youth Flag Football

Divisions – Preschool/K, 1st grade, 2nd grade.

• OCPR teams participate in the North Osage County Flag Football League.
• A player who is under 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2024 is considered too young for the Preschool/K Division.
• If a coach is appointed, teams will be able to start training in the week of September 2.
• League games in Burlingame are played on Sundays.
• Cost – $35 per player.
• Players are provided with team uniforms and equipment (flag kit, footballs, mouth guards, provided by OCPR).

The deadline for registration is August 23.

OCHS Cheer Camp

Preschool/kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade.

• Practice, September 30 and October 2 (18:00-19:00), OCES Gym.
• Performance, October 4, during Home HS FB Game (Preschool/K, 1st Quarter Only and 1st-5th Grade, 1st Half Only).
• The camp fee is $20 per person.
• Cheerleaders will learn three chants and the “Come On Big Red” Marching Band March.
• Each cheerleader receives a t-shirt.
• Recommended practical clothing: shorts, sneakers, socks and a shirt.

The deadline for registration is September 20.
