Paving crews will close both westbound motor vehicle lanes on the Hawthorne Bridge beginning 2 pm Thursday, Sept. 5.

In addition, the Southeast Water Avenue ramp will be closed in both directions. These closures will continue overnight. All lanes are expected to reopen by 5 am Friday, Sept. 6.

The westbound bike and pedestrian path/sidewalk will remain open.

Westbound motor vehicles may avoid delays by choosing an alternate river crossing including the Morrison or Steel bridges.

Flaggers will be on site directing traffic. This paving closure is weather dependent. The current forecast calls for 101-degree temps by Thursday afternoon.
