Charley Hull won’t be able to smoke at 2024 Paris Olympics – ban

Charley Hull went viral earlier this year when she was photographed smoking a cigarette while signing autographs at the US Women’s Open.

At this week’s Paris Olympics, Hull was asked if he smoked while competing inside the ropes.

“I smoke on the field,” Hull replied. “It’s a habit, but I’m not doing it this week.”

Why? Because smoking is not allowed at Le Golf National or any other Olympic venue.

This could really have an impact on Hull. The 28-year-old British woman said smoking helped her relax.

“But that’s the situation,” he said.

Hull is competing at the Olympics for the second time this week alongside her good friend Georgia Hall of Great Britain. Hull also competed at the 2016 Rio Olympics but skipped 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Currently ranked No. 11 in the world, the two-time LPGA winner and Solheim star arrived in France on Monday evening and said friends had informed her about Tommy Fleetwood’s silver medal performance. She played her first practice round at Le Golf National on Tuesday.

“I want to go boxing,” Hull said of his plans outside of golf this week. “Anything, really… hopefully in the evening, it’ll be pretty cool.”

Earlier this summer at the US Women’s Open, Hull said she only started vaping because she wanted to quit. It’s not that vaping is better for her, but that she can’t smoke indoors.

“When things get slow on the golf course,” he said, “I drink a lot more than I should.”

He vowed to stop soon but didn’t anticipate the Olympics would help that effort.
