Gospel High School under 15 rugby team after their win against RKS in the quarter finals

Gospel High School made history today by becoming the school’s first team to reach the national Deans’ semifinals in any class.

In an exciting U-15 quarter-final match, Gospel made a tremendous comeback by defeating Ratu Kadavulevu School 12-7.

RKS was the side that controlled the first half of the match and entered the break leading 7-0, but could not take advantage of the opportunities they had.

Gospel rallied in the second half and scored two critical points to secure the historic win.

Gospel’s head coach, Epineri Koroiveibau, said he encouraged the boys during halftime and reminded them they still had a chance to win.

“We told them they were in the game. We kept RKS behind for the first 20 minutes and a few tactical and positional changes brought us the victory.”

With this victory, Gospel High School achieved a significant success in school history by earning the right to participate in the semi-final match to be held next week.
