CHINA GROVE — Chris Owen recently won the Rowan Masters at Warrior Golf Club, so it was no surprise that Owen captured another club title on Sunday.

Owen shot 68-69 — 137 to win the Championship Flight. He closed a two-stroke deficit. Landon Merrell, a recent East Rowan graduate who signed with Coker, shot a 66 in the first round and a 75 on Sunday to finish at 141 for medalist honors.

Robert Shoaf successfully defended his Senior club title with rounds of 70-71 – 141. Jim Christy led after the first round with a 69 and shot 76 on Sunday for a total of 145. Richard Cobb tied for second with Christy with rounds of 72 and 73.

William Little shot 78-70 — 148 to win the First Flight.

There were two hole-in-ones in the tournament on Sunday, with Steve Yates and Billy James taking first place on hole 6.
